How to use smoking chips for cooking

Getting Started: Make yourself and aluminum foil pouch and add roughly 2 cups of wood chips. You may also choose to put your chips in a smoker box. You will then need to add 1/4 cup of your favorite liquid ( beer, wine, juice. etc. ) Soak wood chips for approximately 15-30 minutes, drain off the excess liquid. If you are using a foil pouch, then simply leave a small opening for the smoke to escape. Place chips in a smoker box or foil pouch on your grill and preheat for 5-10 minutes. When you start to see smoke, that means it's time to get smoking. Place food along side of smoke and cook food. Enjoy your savory smoked meal! You can add more chips for longer cooking. It's that simple!

Suggestions: Our wood chips are used as a way to give your foods depth and complexity. If you plan to soak your wood chips in a liquid other than water, then a good thing to remember is that the stronger the flavor of the liquid; the less time you need to soak the chips. Remember that, whatever you soak the wood chips in will reveal itself in the flavor of your food.

Some suggestions for flavor infused smoking:
Merlot or Cabernet
: Used to soak oak chips. You can pair this with your favorite cut of red meats or a pork loin.
Beer: Soak hickory chips to smoke a whole chicken.
Whiskey: Try soaking oak or cherry smoking chips and pairing with your favorite cut of steak or beef roast.
Lemon Juice: Used to soak maple chips for smoking fish, seafood, or chicken cuts.
